SAN ANGELO, TX – On Wednesday, May 22, East Angelo Lions Club had their monthly meeting and was joined by Sarah Coronado, President of CREO (Community Reinvesting in Educational Opportunities). She spoke about being able to find one's true vocation in life and about the purpose of CREO.
After reading the book "Let Your Light Speak" she realized how fortunate she has been to have found her calling, serving others as an educator. "Education and educating the minds of our communities future leaders weighed so heavy on my heart. I was so excited when CREO invited me to join the organization," commented Coronado.
"The work of this organization has mostly gone under the radar," stated Coronado. Creo provides the opportunity to serve the need of the community to promote, invest and re-instill the value of education in the community.
CREO wants to support and cultivate the students within the community that will be the leaders of the future. In the fall they will be hosting an educational symposium, this will focus on families not just students. Educating families about the amazing opportunity the children have and share how parents can begin to nurture an education for the children as they move through elementary, middle and high school.
Creo works hard to break down barriers including financial barriers. They have different events throughout the year to raise funds including the Pan-American y CREO Silent Auction, their Annual Spring Banquet. They have sponsorships and a general scholarship fund. This upcoming year they will be able to offer 2 scholarships. "Every dollar that we raise goes right back to the community," concluded Coronado.

SAN ANGELO, TX – Club de Leones East Angelo, el miércoles 22 de mayo tuvo su reunión mensual y se unió a Sarah Coronado, presidenta de CREO (Reinversión de la comunidad en oportunidades educativas). Ella habló acerca de poder encontrar la verdadera vocación en la vida y sobre el propósito de CREO.
Después de leer el libro "Deje que su luz hable", se dio cuenta de lo afortunada que había sido al encontrar su vocación, sirviendo a otros como educadora. "Educación y educar las mentes de nuestras comunidades, los futuros líderes pesaron tanto en mi corazón. Estaba tan emocionada cuando CREO me invitó a unirme a la organización", comentó Coronado.
"El trabajo de esta organización en su mayoría se ha ido por debajo del radar", dijo Coronado. CREO brinda la oportunidad de atender las necesidades de la comunidad para promover, invertir y volver a inculcar el valor de la educación en la comunidad.
CREO quiere apoyar y cultivar a los estudiantes que serán los líderes del futuro dentro de la comunidad. En el otoño tendrán lugar un simposio educativo, que se centrará en las familias, no solo en los estudiantes. Educar a las familias sobre la increíble oportunidad que tienen los niños y compartir cómo los padres pueden comenzar a cultivar una educación para los niños a medida que avanzan a través de la escuela primaria, secundaria y preparatoria.
CREO trabaja duro para derribar barreras, incluyendo barreras financieras. Tienen diferentes eventos a lo largo del año para recaudar fondos, incluyendo la Subasta Silenciosa Panamericana y CREO, su Banquete Anual de Primavera. Tienen patrocinios y un fondo general de becas. Este año que viene podrán ofrecer 2 becas. "Cada dólar que recaudamos va directamente a la comunidad", concluyó Coronado.
