Del Rio, Texas – En psicología, el otro yo es conocido como el Alter Ego. Es el otro yo distinto a la persona. Un trastorno de identidad que impide al individuo asociarse consigo mismo. En la literatura, en las películas o en las novelas, es un recurso que se usa para que un personaje pueda desahogarse. Es como su conciencia. A veces es una persona que influye positivamente, como un buen amigo o el mismo actor hablándose frente al espejo.
Pero en nuestro concepto, el yo y el otro yo, es la identidad propia de todo cristiano. Jesús mismo lo dijo: "¡Los que me han visto a mí han visto al Padre! ¿Cómo me pides que les muestre al Padre? ¿Acaso no crees que yo estoy en el Padre y el Padre está en mí?" (Juan 14:9-10).
En otra ocasión afirmó: "Les digo la verdad, cuando hicieron alguna de estas cosas al más insignificante de estos, mis hermanos, ¡me lo hicieron a mí!" (Mateo 25:40). Pablo fue muy explícito, hablando del otro yo: "Mi antiguo yo ha sido crucificado con Cristo. Ya no vivo yo, sino que Cristo vive en mí" (Gálatas 2:20).

Del Rio, Texas – In psychology, the other self is known as the Alter Ego. It is the other self other than the person. An identity disorder that prevents the individual from associating with himself. In literature, in movies or in novels, it is a resource that is used so that a character can vent. It's like your conscience. Sometimes it is a person who has a positive influence, such as a good friend or the actor himself speaking in front of the mirror.
But in our concept, the self and the other self, is the proper identity of every Christian. Jesus Himself said it: "Those who have seen me have seen the Father! How do you ask me to show them the Father? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me?" (John 14: 9-10).
On another occasion he affirmed: "I tell you the truth, when they did any of these things to the least of these, my brothers, they did it to me!" (Matthew 25:40). Paul was very explicit, speaking of the other self: "My old self has been crucified with Christ. I no longer live, but Christ lives in me" (Galatians 2:20).
