Del Rio, Texas - Carlos Obrador Garrido se despide de Del Rio después de servir como cónsul titular en el consulado mexicano en Del Rio. Él dijo: "Hemos tratado de enseñar a nuestros colegas en el consulado a tratar a las personas de la manera que uno quiere ser tratado"
El cónsul Garrido Obrador fue transferido al consulado de Filadelfia, donde prestará servicios en tres Estados; Delaware, Pensilvania y Nueva Jersey. Habló de Filadelfia como un lugar histórico donde tendrá muchos tratos con alcaldes y gobernadores y varios abogados adjuntos.
“En estos estados hay compañías mexicanas globales que están creando muchos empleos, por ejemplo, la compañía Bimbo Bakeries USA emplea a más de 20,000 personas. Entre estos empleados se encuentran muchas personas de México y de los Estados Unidos. Nuestros ciudadanos deben tener la certeza de que los 50 consulados mexicanos en los Estados Unidos están aquí para servirlos y orientarlos”, declaró el cónsul Garrido.
Esta transferencia permitirá al cónsul Garrido Obrador estar más cerca de su familia. "Este trabajo es muy gratificante profesional y personalmente, pero también tenemos que sacrificar nuestro tiempo con nuestras familias", dijo el Cónsul Garrido Obrador.
Concluyó expresando su agradecimiento a sus colegas en la oficina de Del Rio diciendo: “Son la columna vertebral de la oficina. Es gracias a ellos que la oficina continúa, independientemente de quién esté en la posición de consulado”. También reconoció la parte que Gregorio Gutiérrez, Conexión San Ángelo y Conexión Del Rio tuvieron para ayudarlo a abrir las puertas a una mayor presencia.

Del Rio, Texas - Carlos Obrador Garrido says goodbye to Del Rio after serving as titular consul at the Mexican consulate in Del Rio. He said, “We have tried to teach our colleagues at the consulate to treat people in the way that one wants to be treated.”
Consul Garrido Obrador was transferred to the Philadelphia consulate where he will serve three states; Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He spoke of Philadelphia as a historic place where he will have a lot of dealings with mayors and governors and several deputy lawyers.
“In these States there are global Mexican companies that are creating many jobs, for example the company Bimbo Bakeries USA employs over 20,000 people. Among these employees are many people from Mexico as well as from the United States. Our nationals must have the certainty that the 50 Mexican consulates in the United States are here to serve and orientate them,” declared Consul Garrido.
This transfer will allow Consul Garrido Obrador to be closer to his family. “This work is very rewarding professionally and personally, but we also have to sacrifice our time with our families,”
He concluded by expressing his appreciation to his colleagues at the Del Rio Office stating “They are the back bone of the office. It is because of them that the office goes on regardless of who is in the position of consulate.” He also recognized the part that Gregorio Gutierrez, Conexión San Angelo, and Conexión Del Rio had in helping him open the doors to a greater presence.
