Here Comes Santa Down Railway Lane

Conexión San Angelo, Jim Sánchez

Santa Claus made his yearly trek to San Angelo as his Christmas itinerary schedule saw him stop off at the Railway Museum of San Angelo. Old Saint Nick was in town from 10 a.m. -2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020.

SAN ANGELO – “Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus right down Santa Claus Lane, Vixen and Blitzen and all his reindeer pullin' on the reins ...”

The 1947 Christmas classic, “Here Comes Santa Claus” had Old Saint Nick come out not by his usual traditional ride on a sleigh; nor with his 12 reindeer. But on a railroad track riding the Texas Pacifico locomotive. Santa Claus’ Merry Christmas 10 a.m. tour stopped off at the Railway Museum of San Angelo over the weekend, Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020.

Families with their children of all ages were gleefully awaiting Kris Kringle with excited anticipation.

As Santa walked by the children and greeted them, one boy asked him. “Are you the real Santa?”

To which he responded, “Yes.”

Santa set up shop outside of the museum as he took photos with all the kids for two hours. The Ice House Brass Band, composed of 12 members played Christmas holiday music, ranging from “Joy to The World,” “Let It Snow,” “Here Comes Santa Claus,” and “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer”, etc.

Other scheduled activities included the children’s favorite ride, the Choo Choo Express train. As for entertainment there were performances by Angelo Express Athletics, Tiny Sparkles, Mini Glow, and Reckless, West Texans Quartet, Rak Sanan Belly Dancers and Wrather Rhodes.

Santa’s Santa Fe Christmas event, now in its 23rd consecutive year was held from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

La Ice House Brass Band, compuesta por 12 miembros, tocaron música navideña, incluyendo "Joy to The World", "Let It Snow", "Here Comes Santa Claus" y "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer", etc.
