San Angelo, Texas – Leos Imports located at 25 W. Twohig Ave in San Angelo, was started in 1999. On July 24, 2019, they celebrated their 20-year anniversary. In celebration, they offered discounted prices and shared refreshments with the patrons of the day. “People see everything we have done, and they think we started with a detailed business plan and that the we did a market study and a lot of analysis before we started that this is simply not true, my mother was the one with the vision,” commented Hector Leos.
Originally named Leos Mexican Imports, the business was started after the youngest in the Leos family got married. In 1999 San Angelo was limited in the availability of wedding planners or decorators. Creations by Rafael oversaw this traditional Mexican style wedding. His resources did not include everything the family wanted so they took initiative and purchased items in Mexico. Afterward, Rafael expressed his interest in purchasing the items, the family agreed. Rafael requested for additional items to be brought and sold to him from Mexico. It was then that Mrs. Leos decided to start the import business.
Products were sold at different intersections throughout the city until they decided to open a small store on Sherwood Way. Soon they were able to purchase a new building on South Chadbourne. In 2003 his mother was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis; this is a long-term neuromuscular disease that affects the skeletal muscles. Hector spoke to his mother and bought out her inventory to start an online business, Leo Imports. “I planned to get rid of the inventory, but the products became more popular online, so we just bought more to keep selling,” commented Leos.
By 2011 orders and shipping had grown. Hector still had a day job and mom would help with preparing orders and labels. Surprisingly the company was contacted by Amazon with an invitation to join the online giant. After some thought they accepted. Now they are also part of eBay, Poshmark, Etsy, and Wal-Mart online. Traditional items are being modernized to appeal to a broader spectrum. Today Leos Imports has customers all over the United States as well as in Europe, Australia, Brazil, and Russia. “We are grateful to God for everything he has given us. I give honor and glory to God,” concluded Leos.
During the start of Conexión, Hector Leos showed his support by being a part of the sports coverage as a volunteer. Conexión is glad to be able to congratulate Hector and the Leos Family on their achievements.

Originalmente llamado Leos Mexican Imports, el negocio comenzó después de que el más joven de la familia Leos se casó. San Angelo en 1999, tenía una disponibilidad limitada de organizadores de bodas o decoradores. Creations by Rafael supervisó esta boda tradicional mexicana. Los recursos de él no incluían todo lo que la familia quería, por lo que tomaron la iniciativa y compraron artículos en México. Después, Rafael expresó su interés en comprar los artículos, la familia estuvo de acuerdo. Rafael solicitó que le trajeran y vendieran artículos adicionales de México. Fue entonces cuando la Sra.
