Del Rio, Texas – El 29 de septiembre pasado, el Consulado de México en Del Rio, Texas recibió a su nuevo cónsul titular, la Licenciada Paloma Villaseñor Vargas. Ha sido servidora pública federal en diversas dependencias y tres veces legisladora, dos en el ámbito federal y una en el local. Fue Cónsul Titular de México en Calgary, Canadá.
En su mensaje a la comunidad mexicana y descendientes de mexicanos, la Sra. Cónsul dijo que su función primordial es apoyar a los mexicanos protegiéndolos en sus derechos y orientarlos en el caso de cualquier problemática que tengan.
“Brindamos asistencia en cualquier tema consular”, dijo la Cónsul Villaseñor. “Asesoramos en la relación que deben de tener con las diferentes autoridades. Les orientamos legalmente.
La Cónsul dijo que siempre tratara, la oficina que representa, estar muy cerca de sus connacionales. Además, dijo que siempre están dando orientación constante, y más ahora de forma virtual.
“Damos cursos, talleres, para que las personas conozcan sus derechos”, dijo la diplomática. “Tenemos ventanillas para dar atención a las mujeres, también una sobre salud y otra de finanzas”.
En su mensaje público, dijo ser la primera mujer designada como Cónsul Titular. Desde que el consulado abrió sus puertas en 1908 en esta ciudad fronteriza, Del Rio, Texas.
La Cónsul estuvo como invitada de honor por la señora Liliana Flores directora del puerto de entrada de Del Rio para estar presente en la apertura del nuevo carril de SENTRI en la frontera entre México y Estados Unidos y dijo que era un momento histórico entre los dos países.
“Es un paso más para que la amistad y la colaboración entre Del Rio y Ciudad Acuña, crezca,” dijo la Cónsul Villaseñor. “Y ahora que hay un nuevo tratado comercial con Estados Unidos y Canadá, la apertura de este carril hará que se fortalezca la economía de toda la región”.
El Consulado en esta región sirve a las comunidades de Del Río, Fort Stockton, San Ángelo y Sonora, Texas.

Del Rio, Texas – On September 29, the Mexican Consulate in Del Rio, Texas received its new titular consul, Ms. Paloma Villaseñor Vargas. In her message to the Mexican community and descendants of Mexicans, Ms. Consul said that her primary function is to support Mexicans by protecting their rights and guide them in the event of any problem they may have.
"We provide assistance in any consular issue," said Consul Villaseñor. “We advise on the relationship they should have with the different authorities. We guide them legally.
The Consul said that the office it represents would always try to be very close to its nationals. In addition, he said that they are always giving constant guidance, and more now in a virtual way.
"We give courses, workshops, so that people know their rights," said the diplomat. "We have windows to provide care for women, also one on health and another on finance."

The Consul was the guest of honor by Mrs. Liliana Flores, director of the Del Rio port of entry, to be present at the opening of the new SENTRI lane on the border between Mexico and the United States and said that it was a historic moment between the two countries.
