San Angelo, Texas – Dos personas que son pilares en el desarrollo del fútbol soccer en San Ángelo son el Sr. Roberto Heredia y José Samuel Cuellar.
Hace unos días vieron el fruto de sus esfuerzos en que cuatro equipos de mujeres empezaran su torneo. Tuvieron el honor de contar con la Lic. Paloma Villaseñor Vargas, representante consular de México en Del Rio, TX.
“Ahora tratamos de trabajar con las nuevas generaciones de jóvenes, especialmente de muchachas y, gracias al Sr. Cuellar, empezamos con una nueva liga con cuatro equipos”, dijo Heredia.
“Con la liga de mujeres estamos trayendo algo nuevo a la ciudad, a la comunidad”, dijo el Sr. Cuellar. “No hay muchas cosas que hacer por aquí, y lo que pudimos hacer en una semana y media de organizarla es sorprendente”.
Tanto Heredia como Cuéllar, desde niños jugaban juntos y ahora han incorporado a sus propias hijas al deporte futbolístico.
Además de Heredia y Cuellar, ambos reconocieron la labor del Sr. Jesús ‘Chuy” Hernández que también ha sido un pilar en este esfuerzo por ayudar a la comunidad en San Ángelo, en conseguir los campos para que se practique el fútbol.
Agradecieron también la presencia de la Sra. Cónsul de México para la inauguración del torneo de futbol soccer femenil.

San Angelo, Texas – Two people who are pillars in the development of soccer in San Angelo are Mr. Roberto Heredia and José Samuel Cuellar.
A few days ago, they saw the fruit of their efforts in which four women's teams started their tournament. They had the honor of having Lic. Paloma Villasenor Vargas, consular representative in Del Rio, TX.
"Now we try to work with the new generations of young people, especially girls and, thanks to Mr. Cuellar, we started a new league with four teams," Heredia said.
“With the women's league we are bringing something new to the city, to the community,” said Mr. Cuellar. "There is not much to do around here, and what we were able to do in a week and a half of organizing it is amazing."
Both Heredia and Cuellar, since they were children, played together and now they have incorporated their own daughters into soccer.
In addition to Heredia and Cuellar, both recognized the work of Mr. Jesús ‘Chui” Hernandez, who has also been a pillar in this effort to help the community in San Angelo, in obtaining the fields for soccer to be practiced.
They also thanked the presence of the Consul of Mexico for the inauguration of the women's soccer tournament.
