The San Angelo Symphony held a virtual show titled Big Band Bash & All That Jazz, the show was held Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021. Among the jazz classics was one particular one, “In the Mood” by the Glenn Miller Orchestra.
SAN ANGELO – "The show must go on" no matter what happened before is certainly true with the San Angelo Symphony’s own scheduled Big Band Bash & All That Jazz show.
Symphony Director Hector Guzman briefly took time to say that original members of the Gypsy Jazz couldn’t make it to Saturday’s Jan. 30, 2021 concert because New York was under a quarantine due to the pandemic. The show did go on without missing a beat as Maestro Guzman had his good friend, Brian Piper, bring along great musical talent. Beside Piper who was the pianist, there were: Steve Story on violin, Jason Bucklin, guitar; Raul Reyes, upright bass & Noel Johnston, rhythm guitar and singer, Marian Powers and others.
During the hour-long performance, two classic jazz pieces included: “Moonlight Serenade” and “In the Mood” both by the Glenn Miller Orchestra.
The concert was pre-recorded at the Eltha Murphey Performance Hall (City Auditorium.)

La Sinfónica de San Angelo ofreció un espectáculo virtual titulado Big Band Bash & All That Jazz, el concierto se llevó a cabo el sábado 30 de enero de 2021. Entre los clásicos del jazz el conjunto interpretó "In the Mood" de la Orquesta de Glenn Miller.
SAN ÁNGELO - "El espectáculo debe continuar". Más allá de pandemias o de distanciamiento social, el programa Big Band Bash & All That Jazz de la Sinfónica de San Ángelo vino a ofrecer un poco de entretenimiento a la comunidad de San Ángelo.
El director de la sinfónica, Héctor Guzmán, dijo que los miembros originales del Gypsy Jazz no pudieron asistir al concierto del sábado 30 de enero de 2021 porque Nueva York estaba en cuarentena debido a la pandemia.
El espectáculo continuó sin perder el ritmo, ya que el maestro Guzmán hizo que su buen amigo, Brian Piper, trajera un gran talento musical. Además de Piper, pianista, estuvieron: Steve Story al violín, Jason Bucklin, guitarra; Raúl Reyes, contrabajo y Noel Johnston, guitarra rítmica y cantante, Marian Powers y otros.
Durante el espectáculo, de una hora de duración, destacaron dos piezas clásicas de jazz: "Moonlight Serenade" y "In the Mood", ambas de la Orquesta de Glenn Miller.
El concierto fue pregrabado en el Eltha Murphey Performance Hall (City Auditorium).
