¿Qué dice la Biblia?

Existe la tentación de destacar nuestra propia bondad o la gran obra que realizamos. ¿Qué dice la Biblia?

2 Corintios 4:7: «Pero tenemos este tesoro en vasos de barro, para que la grandeza del poder sea de Dios y no de nosotros».

De esta escritura aprendemos:

1. Hay un tesoro, pero no somos nosotros. Somos vasos de barro.

2. El tesoro o la verdad que predicamos es Dios; su poder que trasciende todas las fronteras.

3. Si confundimos ambos, glorificamos la cinta y el papel e ignoramos el don.

4. Lo que nos hace importantes es que somos el instrumento que Dios usa para llevar su Evangelio a los demás. Esta es una gran bendición, pero toda la gloria y todo el valor están en el Evangelio, no en quienes lo llevan.

5. También podríamos aprender que tendremos más éxito en la entrega del gran don de Dios si nos escondiéramos detrás del Evangelio en lugar de delante de él.

What Does the Bible Say?

There is a temptation to call attention to our own goodness or the grand work we do. What does the Bible say?

2 Corinthians 4:7 “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, to show that the transcendent power belongs to God and not to us.”

From this scripture we learn:

1. There is a treasure but it is not us. We are clay pots or earthen vessels.

2. The treasure or truth we preach is God; his power that transcends all boundaries.

3. If we confuse the two we glorify the ribbon and paper and ignore the gift.

4. What makes us important is we are the vessel God uses to carry his Gospel to others. This is a great blessing but all the glory and all the worth is in the Gospel. Not the carriers.

5. We could also learn we will be more successful in our delivery of God’s great gift if we could hide ourselves behind the Gospel instead of before it.
