¿Qué dice la Biblia?

Cuando Pablo escribió a la iglesia de Corintios, dijo: «Pues me propuse no saber entre vosotros cosa alguna sino a Jesucristo, y a este crucificado» (1 Corintios 2:2). Hoy sabemos muchas cosas. Los púlpitos están llenos de muchas cosas aparte de Cristo, pero ¿qué dice la Biblia?

Colosenses 1:15: «Él es la imagen del Dios invisible, el primogénito de toda creación».

De este versículo aprendemos:

¿Cómo podemos ver a un Dios invisible? Pues bien, miramos a Jesús. Él es la imagen de su Padre. Juan 14:8-9: «Felipe le dijo: «Señor, muéstranos al Padre, y nos basta». Jesús le respondió: «¿Tanto tiempo hace que estoy con vosotros, y no me conoces, Felipe? El que me ha visto a mí, ha visto al Padre; ¿cómo dices tú: “Muéstranos al Padre”?». Cuanto más miramos a Jesús, más vemos a Dios.

Juan incluso nos dice en el capítulo uno de su evangelio que el "Verbo" es Dios, que se hizo carne y habitó entre nosotros. Así que conocer a Jesús es conocer al Padre. Obedecer a Jesús es obedecer al Padre. Debemos dedicar nuestras energías a acercarnos lo más posible a Jesús.

What Does the Bible Say?

When Paul wrote to the church in Corinthians he said, “For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2). We know a lot of things today. Pulpits are filled with many things other than Christ but what does the Bible say?

Colossians 1:15 “He is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation”

From this verse of scripture, we learn:

How can we ever see an invisible God? Well we look at Jesus. He is the image of his Father. John 14:8-9 “Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and we shall be satisfied.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you do not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?” The more we look at Jesus the more we see God.

John even tells us in chapter one of his gospel that the “Word” is God and that he became flesh and dwelt among us. So to know Jesus is to know the Father. To obey Jesus is to obey the father. We should spend our energy getting as close to Jesus as we can.
