Del Rio, Texas – Francis F. Rodriguez a native to Del Rio, Texas has now lived in San Antonio for 7 years. She retired to her current city after a 48-year long career which included time with the Del Rio school district and the Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas as well as some positions within the City of Del Rio. Ending her career as the City Manager. While living in Del Rio she became involved in the Alliance Pan American Round Table.
The Pan American Round Table organization is about empowering women. “The purpose of this organization is to provide mutual knowledge, understanding, and friendship among the peoples of the Western Hemisphere, and to foster all movements affecting the women and children of the Americas,” commented Rodriguez. When she moved to San Antonio, she continued her affiliation with the Pan American Round Table with the local chapter. She was voted treasurer in October of 2018.
“This is an all-women organization, we award scholarships to different women who are either returning to college, are head of household or are college graduates working towards and advance type of degree. Thousands of dollars are awarded every year,” commented Rodriguez. There is a total of 202 tables in the western hemisphere. The Pan American Round Table was founded in October of 1916 in San Antonio by Florence Terry Griswold when she saw the need to help women and children refugees of the Mexican Revolution.
“As women, we need to be better prepared to have a career to the keep value of friendship and knowledge of the different cultures of the world. For me the greatest thing has been seeing women return to get their education and helping our children,” concluded Rodriguez.

Del Rio, Texas – Francis F. Rodríguez, originaria de Del Río, Texas, ha vivido en San Antonio durante 7 años. Ella se retiró a la ciudad actual después de una carrera de 48 años que incluyó tiempo con el distrito escolar de Del Rio y a la tradicional Tribu Kickapoo de Texas, así como algunos puestos dentro de la Ciudad de Del Rio. Terminando su carrera como Gerente de la Ciudad. Mientras vivía en Del Río, se involucró en la Mesa Redonda Panamericana y aliados.
La organización de la Mesa Redonda Panamericana trata de empoderar a las mujeres. "El propósito de esta organización es proporcionar conocimiento mutuo, comprensión y amistad entre los pueblos del hemisferio occidental, y fomentar todos los movimientos que afectan a las mujeres y a los niños de las Américas", comentó Rodríguez. Cuando se mudó a San Antonio, continuó su afiliación con la sucursal local de la Mesa Redonda Panamericana. En octubre de 2018 ella fue electa tesorera.
“Esta es una organización exclusivamente femenina, otorgamos becas a diferentes mujeres que regresan a la universidad, son amas de hogar o son graduadas universitarias que trabajan para obtener un tipo de título avanzado. Se otorgan miles de dólares cada año”, comentó Rodríguez. Hay un total de 202 mesas en el hemisferio occidental. “Como mujeres, necesitamos estar mejor preparadas para tener una carrera para mantener el valor de la amistad y el conocimiento de las diferentes culturas del mundo. Para mí, lo mejor ha sido ver a las mujeres regresar para obtener su educación y ayudar a nuestros hijos,” concluyó Rodríguez.
