SAN ANGELO – On May 8th the San Angelo Fine Arts Museum hosted a special performance of the Lady in Blue musical, this is the legend of a nun from Spain said to have the power of bilocation (the ability to be in two places at once). Due to this special performance, the Honorary Consul of Spain Martha Vera, out of the El Paso office was in San Angelo along with Cynthia Jordan the composer of the Lady in Blue music.
Martha Vera oversees 19 counties." My job is not only to help people with as passports or visas but to also spread the story of Spain like that of Sor Maria de Agreda." stated Vera. Sor Maria was a nun that lived in a convent in Spain. It is said that Sor Maria never left the convent, but was seen by natives in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas where Native Americans said they learned about Jesus from the Lady in Blue. It is said that the morning after her last visit the land was filled with beautiful blue flowers as a reminder of her visit. These flowers were later known as Bluebonnets."
Cynthia Jordan, composer of the Lady in Blue music started her career in 1983 when she wrote the song Jose Cuervo, which quickly climbed the country music charts. "Living in Los Angeles and Nashville I have no idea why I would land in San Angelo, but I know that every time I'm in a new place in my life I feel that God has a mission for me," commented Jordan.
Vera and Jordan will travel to the Vatican for a performance of the Lady in Blue on May 21, 2019.
