SAN ANGELO – Kids, hey where can you get razor fades to braids, shaved ice, backpacks and jam to your favorite DJ, all at the same time, and under one roof?

A bigger, better Back-2-School Bash is coming back for its second annual backpack giveaway which includes shaved ice from Kona Ice, free haircuts from some stylists: Comb Together Barber/ Salon, The Silo Salon, and live entertainment with Chris Fernandez, a.k.a. DJ NRG.

A year ago, Geneva and husband, Joe Rodriguez, coordinators for the B-2-S, put the event together in a very short period of time. This go-around the husband-and-wife team took it to the next level as the Bash will take place on Sunday, August 14, from 1 p.m. -4 p.m. in a bigger venue at the Foster Communications Coliseum. Geneva stated that 400-500 backpacks will be given away. Also, a lot of businesses, agencies and volunteers collaborated to ensure this will be a big blowout, summer success.

Among the businesses Rodriguez listed who will make donations are: Tony Villarreal State Farm Insurance, gift cards from Chick-fil-A, Mr. Tacos with tacos, 40 gallons of sweet tea from Raising Cane’s, and others.

The agencies represented includes: the Mexican Consulate, WIC, Shannon Medical Center, and San Angelo Police Department. Girls Scouts of America, 7th Cities Church, and Lincoln Middle School.
