San Angelo, Texas – Opened I 2012, The Golden Corral Buffet and Grill located in San Angelo nears the end of its first remodel to the new brand standard to the dining rooms and exterior. Recently celebrated its 6th anniversary under the ownership of Mario Carbajal, Owner/Operator.
Carbajal was born in Beeville, Texas. His career began in the nineties just after high school when he became an employee at Golden Corral. “I worked my way up the ranks going from employee to manager, operating partner to now being an owner,” commented Carbajal.
The business is family owned and operated. Carbajal's wife is the accountant and his daughters work in the bakery. His son in law is the kitchen manager and has recently bought into the business as an operating it partners.
Since his establishment in San Angelo Carbajal has been able to reach out to private schools that do not have cafeterias.
The Golden Corral Corporation recently rolled out a remodel for their stores. This project was the Gateway Reimage. Part of this remodel included the construction of a fire place. “It’s like welcoming the customers into your living room as you would do at home. The remodel I have hopeful to be totally complete with the exterior by mid-January.” stated Carbajal.
Coming to San Angelo from Midland/Odessa where everything was rushed Carbajal now feels that he can connect more on a one on one level with his customers and he appreciates their input. “They give me an opportunity to get better for the city of San Angelo,” concluded Carbajal.
He expressed his appreciation for everyone that visits his location stating “I would like thank everyone who has been a big part of our store. I've gotten to know quite a few of our everyday guests.”

El negocio es de propiedad y operación familiar. La esposa de Carbajal es la contadora y sus hijas trabajan en la panadería. Su yerno es el gerente de cocina y recientemente fue aceptado como socio operativo.
Carbajal desde su establecimiento en San Angelo, ha podido llegar a escuelas privadas que no tienen cafeterías.
La Corporación Golden Corral lanzó recientemente una remodelación para sus tiendas. Este proyecto fue la puerta de preimagen “Gateway Reimage”. Parte de esta remodelación incluyó la construcción de una chimenea. "Es como dar la bienvenida a los clientes a su sala de estar como lo haría en casa. Espero que la remodelación con el exterior esté totalmente completa a mediados de Enero”. dijo Carbajal.
Al llegar a San Ángelo de Midland / Odessa, donde todo fue apresurado, ahora Carbajal siente que puede conectarse más a nivel individual con sus clientes y aprecia su aporte. "Ellos me dan la oportunidad de mejorar para la ciudad de San Ángelo", concluyó Carbajal.
