San Angelo, Texas – In an exclusive interview with Conexion San Angelo, businesswoman Monette Molinar said she regrets that due to Coronavirus, the traditional festivities of May 5 have to be canceled in the city of San Angelo.
"We are hopeful that perhaps for the Mexican Independence Day in September we can do something," said Molinar. “The important thing is that we have to take care of the community. We can make parties all the time. As a community we know how to have fun.”
This is the first time in 60 years that the festivities of May 5 in the city have been suspended. There was another cancellation last year where the Mexican Independence festivities were not celebrated after having had them for 50 years.
Molinar said that in her capacity as president of the San Angelo Southside Lions Club, she recommends that the community protect itself. And by the time everything is back t025o normal give support the Club in all its activities.
She deeply regrets that small businesses are closed and at risk of losing their businesses, but at the same time it is important to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
"It has been very difficult for them and I cannot imagine how those families who own restaurants, cafes, beauty salons are having it, everything is closed." Molinar said.

San Ángelo, Texas – En entrevista exclusiva para Conexion San Ángelo, la empresaria Monette Molinar dijo que lamenta mucho que, por Coronavirus, las festividades tradicionales del 5 de mayo se tengan que cancelar en la ciudad de San Ángelo.
“Tenemos la esperanza que quizá para las Fiestas Patrias de Septiembre podremos hacer algo,” dijo Molinar. “Lo importante es que tenemos que cuidar a la comunidad. Fiestas las podemos hacer todo el tiempo. Como comunidad sabemos divertirnos”.
Esta es la primera vez en 60 años que se suspenden las festividades del 5 de mayo en la ciudad. El año pasado hubo otra cancelación donde las festividades de la Independencia de México no se celebraron después de haberlas tenido durante 50 años.
Molinar dijo, que en su capacidad como presidenta del Club de Leones del Sur de San Ángelo, recomienda que la comunidad se proteja. Y para cuando todo vuelva a la normalidad, apoyen al Club en todas sus actividades.
Ella lamenta profundamente que las pequeñas empresas estén cerradas y estén en riesgo de perder sus negocios, pero al mismo tiempo es importante evitar la propagación del coronavirus.
"Ha sido muy difícil para ellos y no puedo imaginar cómo lo están pasando esas familias dueñas de Restaurantes, Cafeterías, Salones de belleza, todo está cerrado". Dijo Molinar.
