SAN ANGELO – Very soon San Angelo and Concho Valley communities will congregate at the Bobcat Stadium to listen to messages of reconciliation, peace, unity and love, as Pastor Ronnie Hawkins reported in the interview conducted by Conexion San Angelo.
Ronnie Hawkins, pastor of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church and his wife Maria met in 1970 here in San Angelo and have been together ever since. Come June they will celebrate 45 years of marriage. Perusing a military career, Pastor Hawkins and his wife had to leave San Angelo for some time. “I told him he needed to bring me back.” stated Mrs. Hawkins. When they retired from the military in 2015, they moved back to San Angelo. They have raised three children. “I was a mother, that was my career and I raised children that have become contributing members of society” stated Mrs. Hawkins. Two are in the Airforce and one is a retired teacher. In August of 2016 he became the pastor of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church.
In January of 2017 Pastor Hawkins spoke at an event in which the topic was Psalms 133, which reads “behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.” (Psalms 133:1 King James Version) he spoke about his football days saying, "We filled the stadium with 14,000 people and our team had not even been winning, if we could do that for a football game, that's where the idea came from, why not do that for Christ?” The Clarion Call was not something that was written down, it just came from my heart.” After getting back home, Pastor John Pope, Jr. from Galilee Missionary Baptist Church texted him asking when they were going to start the 14000 people in the San Angelo Stadium.
Currently 35 out of about 95 churches in San Angelo have committed to be a part of the Clarion Call. Several speakers will be present touching on topics such as reconciliation, peace, unity and love. Among the speakers will be Colt McCoy, who is from the Washington Redskins sharing his experience of how Christ has been the center point of the ups and downs of his life.
Any funds received to support the event expenses go through the Concho Valley Baptist Association and marked Clarion Call in the memo. The Clarion Call event will be open to the public, and there will be no entry fee.
“The Clarion Call is not just for Christians, it is for everyone, for us to recognize the peace, love and unity that Christ brings for who he is” stated Pastor Hawkins. He invites the surrounding communities to come be a part of this event. There will be Spanish translators.

SAN ANGELO – Muy pronto San Angelo y comunidades del Valle Concho se congregarán en el Estadio Bobcats para escuchar mensajes de reconciliación, de paz, de la unidad y del amor, así informó el pastor Ronnie Hawkins en la entrevista realizada por Conexión San Angelo.
Ronnie Hawkins, pastor de la Iglesia Bautista de Compañerismo Cristiano (Christian Fellowship Baptist Church) y su esposa Maria en 1970 se reunieron aquí en San Angelo y han estado juntos desde entonces. En junio van a celebrar 45 años de matrimonio. Siguiendo una carrera militar, el pastor Hawkins y su esposa tuvieron que dejar San Angelo por un tiempo. "Le dije que tenía que traerme de vuelta", declaró la Sra. Hawkins. Cuando se retiraron de las fuerzas armadas en 2015, regresaron a San Angelo. Han criado tres hijos. dijo la Sra. Hawkins. "Fui madre, esa fue mi carrera y crie hijos que se han convertido en miembros de la sociedad, dos están en la Fuerza Aérea y uno es un maestro retirado, en agosto de 2016 se convirtió en el pastor de Christian Fellowship Baptist Church”.
En enero de 2017, el Pastor Hawkins habló en un evento en el que el tema fue el Salmo 133, que dice ¡Mirad, cuán bueno y qué agradable es para los hermanos vivir juntos en unidad! (Salmos 133: 1, Versión King James), él habló sobre sus días de fútbol diciendo: "Llenábamos el estadio con 14,000 personas y nuestro equipo ni siquiera había estado ganando. Si podíamos hacer eso para un partido de fútbol, de ahí surgió la idea de qué, ¿por qué no se puede hacer eso por Cristo? El Clarión llama no fue algo que se escribió, solo salió de mi corazón”. Después de regresar a casa, el Pastor John Pope, Jr. de la Iglesia Bautista Misionera Galilea, le envió un mensaje de texto preguntándole cuándo iban a comenzar las 14000 personas en el Estadio San Angelo
Actualmente, 35 de las 95 iglesias en San Angelo se han comprometido a ser parte de El Clarión llama. Varios oradores estarán presentes tocando temas como la reconciliación, la paz, la unidad y el amor. Entre los oradores estará Colt McCoy, que es de los Washington Redskins y comparte su experiencia de cómo Cristo ha sido el punto central de los altibajos de su vida.
Todos los fondos recibidos van para apoyar los gastos del evento a través de la Asociación Bautista del Valle Concho y en la nota estará marcado para “Clarion Call”. El evento Clarion Call estará abierto al público y no habrá pago de entrada.
Declaró el pastor Hawkins. "El Clarión llama “Clarion Call” no es solo para los cristianos, es para todos, para que reconozcamos la paz, el amor y la unidad que Cristo trae por lo que él es". Él invita a las comunidades aledañas a ser parte de este evento. Habrá traductores de español.
