Del Rio, Texas – William Ballard Hurd is a politician and former CIA officer serving as the U.S. representative for Texas's 23rd congressional district since 2015. Carmen Gutierrez, until February 28, worked for him assisting in the community needs of Del Rio area residents.
“Hurd is very sensitive of the needs of the communities, no matter what the demographics are,” said Mrs. Gutierrez who in 2008 retired from the Texas Department of Transportation working in an eight-county area in Southern Texas.
Mr. Hurd went to the Congressional floor and recognized to Mrs. Gutierrez.
“I just got a 10-minute notice to watch Congressman Hurd recognizing me,” said Mrs. Gutierrez.
Mrs. Gutierrez has received other recognitions like one from the GI Forum. “It was a drawing and I was selected the Valentine Queen,” said Gutierrez. “It’s an honor serving and helping the veterans’ organizations, like the GI Forum.”

Del Rio, Texas – William Ballard Hurd es un político y ex oficial de la CIA de Estados Unidos que se desempeña como representante del distrito 23 del Congreso de Texas desde 2015. Hasta el 28 de febrero, Carmen Gutiérrez trabajó para él ayudando en las necesidades de la comunidad de los residentes del área de Del Rio.
"Hurd es muy sensible a las necesidades de las comunidades, sin importar la demografía", dijo la señora Gutiérrez quien en 2008 se retiró del Departamento de Transporte de Texas trabajando en un área de ocho condados en el sur de Texas.
El Sr. Hurd fue al piso del Congreso y reconoció a la Sra. Gutiérrez.
"Acabo de recibir una noticia de 10 minutos para ver al congresista Hurd reconociéndome", dijo la señora Gutiérrez.
La Sra. Gutiérrez ha recibido otros reconocimientos como del GI Foro. "Fue una rifa y me seleccionaron la Reina de San Valentín". "Es un honor servir y ayudar a las organizaciones de veteranos, como el GI Foro". dijo Gutiérrez.
