Congressman August Pfluger (R - TX-11th) appeared before the San Angelo Republican National Hispanic Assembly to speak on three issues: border crisis, oil and gas, and taxes. The meeting was held at the Angelo Civic Hall, 3636 N Bryant Blvd.
SAN ANGELO – Republican Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11th) covered three areas when he spoke before the San Angelo Republican National Hispanic Assembly: the border crisis, oil and gas, and taxes.
“We in the Permian Basin and in this District 11, are producing 40 percent of this country’s oil.” To be self-sufficient, to be energy independent, to be able to export more than we import is a big deal.”
Pfluger told the attendees he has attempted to educate the other side of the aisle in oil and gas, to bring about partisanship when it comes to why these resources are so important.
Conexión asked Pfluger of the three areas he addressed which one is the most likely to be agreed upon by the Democrats? “The Natural Gas Expansion Act, which I introduced, is already receiving major bipartisan support, so I feel really good about continuing to push it. It’s good for the industry, and good for the economy” Pfluger said.

SAN ÁNGELO - El congresista republicano August Pfluger (TX-11th) cubrió tres áreas cuando habló ante la Asamblea Nacional Hispana Republicana de San Ángelo: la crisis fronteriza, el petróleo y el gas, y los impuestos.
"Nosotros, en la región Permian Basin y en este Distrito 11, estamos produciendo el 40 por ciento del petróleo de este país". Ser autosuficiente, ser energéticamente independientes, poder exportar más de lo que importamos es muy importante".
Pfluger dijo a los asistentes que ha intentado educar a legisladores demócratas en el tema de petróleo y gas, para generar bipartidismo en torno a estos recursos tan importantes.
Conexión le preguntó a Pfluger de las tres áreas que abordó, ¿cuál es la más probable de lograr llegar a un acuerdo con los demócratas? “La Ley de Expansión del Gas Natural que presenté ya está recibiendo un gran apoyo bipartidista, así que me siento muy confiado para seguir impulsándola. Es buena para la industria y buena para la economía ”, dijo Pfluger.
