Jim Sánchez, qualified for the Phase 1B COVID-19 vaccine due to being a senior. Sánchez was administered the Pfizer BioTech vaccine on Jan. 27, 2021 from Shannon Medical Center nurses. SAN ANGELO – After 10 months of social distancing, washing hands and wearing masks, people 65-years-old, older, and people 16 years of age, qualified for the Phase 1B of the U.S. National Vaccine Plan, making them eligible to receive the COVID-19 immunization.
Another qualifier in that Phase 1B was that individuals had to have at least one chronic medical condition that put them at increased risk for severe illness from the virus that causes COVID-19.
One of the locations that had this particular group getting their vaccine from Shannon Medical Center nurses was in the old Beall’s Store, at the Sunset Mall, 4001 Sunset Drive.
After receiving the vaccine, individuals were issued a COVID-19 vaccination record card. The card showed the vaccine that was administered, from Pfizer BioTech; and also served as a reminder of when the next scheduled date to receive a second follow-up vaccine.

SAN ÁNGELO - Después de 10 meses de distanciamiento social, lavarse las manos y usar cubrebocas, las personas de 65 años, mayores y personas de 16 años calificaron para la Fase 1B del Plan Nacional de Vacunas, haciéndolos elegibles para recibir la inmunización COVID-19.
Otro calificativo en esa Fase 1B fue que los individuos debían tener al menos una condición médica crónica que los pusiera en mayor riesgo de enfermedad grave por el virus que causa COVID-19.
Una de las ubicaciones en las que este grupo en particular recibió su vacuna de las enfermeras del Centro Médico Shannon fue en la antigua tienda Beall's, en el Sunset Mall, 4001 Sunset Drive.
Después de recibir la vacuna, a las personas se les entregó una tarjeta de registro de vacunación COVID-19. La tarjeta registra la vacuna que se administró, de Pfizer BioTech; y también sirve como recordatorio de la próxima fecha programada para recibir una segunda vacuna de seguimiento.
