San Angelo City Mayor Brenda Gunter is sworn-in for her second term by former San Angelo Municipal Court Judge, Allen Gilbert. Three other City officials also took their oath of office on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. SAN ANGELO –Four San Angelo City Council officials with the first being, second-term Mayor, Brenda Gunter was sworn-in by former San Angelo Municipal Court Judge, Allen Gilbert in a ceremony held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.
Judge Gilbert then administered the oaths of office to Tom Thompson, re-elected as Single Member District 2, Lucy Gonzalez, also re-elected to SMD 4. And the newest council member, Mr. Larry Miller to SMD 6.
Prior to the newly elected Council Members taking their oath, former SMD 6 Billie Dewitt was recognized for her contributions on the City Council by Mayor Gunter and Dewitt’s fellow colleagues. Gunter presented Dewitt with a plaque.
“In grateful recognition of dedicated service to the City of San Angelo.”
Mayor Gunter also recognized two organizations: Texas Blues Festival Society as she proclaimed May 15, through May 22, 2021 as Simply Texas Blues Festival Week. And MHMR Services for the Concho Valley’s Mental Awareness Month.
