Ice Cube: king of the west among six artists

Gangsta rap artist Ice Cube was the headliner for the King of the West concert on Saturday, March 19, 2022. Cube and six other artists appeared onstage at the Bill Aylor Sr. Memorial River Stage.

SAN ANGELO – The king of Gangsta rap, Ice Cube made the Bill Aylor Sr. Memorial River Stage his “crib”.

The moment he stepped on stage Cube owned his fan baseand a large group of paid attendees, 4200, not to mention all the ones who showed up in the outer areas that were not included in the count, to come out and support the Kings of the West.

Ice Cube put it out there for everyone to know that just because he had branched out and starred in movies, he still got game when it comes to bringing it as a rapper. Cube’s “rap sheet” pun intended says he is an actor, filmmaker. But it was as a rapper who put “Gangsta” rap on the map. Cube performed one of his greatest hits,” Check Yo Self Before You Wreck Yourself. And “Friday” from the 1995 movie, “Friday”

In 1991, Cube collaborated with Eazy-E, Dr. Dre and MC Ren to produce the song, Boyz-n-the-Hood” which was also the title to the movie written and directed by John Singleton that became an iconic classic. And in 2002, Cube starred in a movie titled, “All About the Benjamins.”
