San Angelo, Texas – We are all reminded that the world can change quickly and in the recent days we have all witnessed unprecedented events in our community. We continue to experience restrictions caused by the COVID 19 Pandemic. We have experienced a storm that caused damage to vehicles, residences and businesses. As a community, we are struggling to respond the terrible death of George Floyd.
There is uncertainty regarding community and the next steps we will take to grow beyond our current challenges. These uncertainties are driving understandable concern in our community.
The good news is that we can all work together to lessen the impact and to hasten the recovery from the negative effects brought by recent events. We need to do what we do best in San Angelo...we need to pull together and to support each other. In the face of an overwhelming tidal wave of bad news, hand wringing and rumor mongering we need to remind ourselves of who we are as a community. We are a community of faith and patriotism.
We need to focus on helping those in need and supporting those who are working hard to help us. By doing so, we will not only help alleviate the negative effects of the situation but we will also be able to distance ourselves from our own negative thoughts and anxiety.
The San Angelo Chamber of Commerce is fully engaged and will continue to work diligently to support the community. There is no where else that I would rather be during a time of challenge than right here in San Angelo. We are a strong community and by working together we will get through these challenging times…in fact, I believe that we will be better for having worked through them together.

San Ángelo, Texas – Todos recordemos que el mundo puede cambiar rápidamente y en los últimos días todos hemos sido testigos de eventos sin precedentes en nuestra comunidad. Continuamos experimentando restricciones causadas por la pandemia del COVID 19. Hemos experimentado una tormenta que causó daños a vehículos, residencias y negocios. Como comunidad, estamos luchando por responder a la terrible muerte de George Floyd.
Existe incertidumbre con respecto a la comunidad y los próximos pasos que daremos para crecer más allá de nuestros desafíos actuales. Estas incertidumbres están generando una preocupación comprensible en nuestra comunidad.
La buena noticia es que todos podemos trabajar juntos para disminuir el impacto y acelerar la recuperación de los efectos negativos provocados por los acontecimientos recientes. Necesitamos hacer mejor lo que hacemos en San Ángelo ... necesitamos unirnos y apoyarnos mutuamente. Ante una marea abrumadora de malas noticias, retorcimientos de manos y rumores, necesitamos recordarnos quiénes somos como comunidad. Somos una comunidad de fe y patriotismo.
Necesitamos enfocarnos en ayudar a los necesitados y apoyar a aquellos que están trabajando duro para ayudarnos. Al hacerlo, no solo ayudaremos a aliviar los efectos negativos de la situación, sino que también podremos distanciarnos de nuestros propios pensamientos negativos y ansiedad.
La Cámara de Comercio de San Ángelo está totalmente comprometida y continuará trabajando diligentemente para apoyar a la comunidad. No hay otro lugar en el que preferiría estar durante un momento de desafío que aquí mismo en San Ángelo. Somos una comunidad fuerte y al trabajar juntos superaremos estos tiempos difíciles ... de hecho, creo que seremos mejores por haber trabajado juntos.
