Jeff Williams is Mayor of Arlington, Texas. He spoke with Conexion San Angelo during the opening of the Global Life Field.
“We have been working so hard to grow up tourism to Arlington,” said Mayor Williams. “This is a gateway to keep taxes down, make money to invest in the neighborhoods, such keep the streets fixed, have excellent fire and police departments”.
Mayor Williams also said that he feels excited of what is going on in Arlington, especially the opening of the Globe Life Field, which is a public-private partnership between the City of Arlington and the Texas Rangers, that is the team’s new home. The ballpark also serves as a multipurpose sports and entertainment venue.
“As you as you enter Global Life Field, you see the seats so much closer to the field, due to an excellent structural engineering” said the mayor. “The skylights are on the roof creating a daylight effect.”
The Mayor said that Globe Life Field is the next generation of ball parks and it is far beyond of any other parks.
“All the amenities are phenomenal,” he said. “We are going to see baseball for the years to come.”
