Conexion San Angelo newsroom, Jim Sánchez

Pulgaso owner and coordinator of “Family Fiesta Night” Liz Galvan held the event on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the El Paseo Santa Angela from 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. The Valley Coffee Co. owned by Vicente and Lety De la Cruz is a local, family-owned business.

SAN ANGELO – When Liz Galvan, a businesswoman and owner of Pulgaso held “Family Fiesta Night”, Galvan stated her success is measured when she promotes other small business owners. Galvan considers many of the forty vendors of a “kindred spirit” whose business interests are similar to hers.

Among those forty small business owners with similar interests was the Valley Coffee Co.

The mobile food truck coffee owners, Vicente, and Lety De la Cruz are the “new kids on the block” as their start-up business began almost three years ago this coming September. As for going all in toward the mobile route it occurred in 2022. The family-oriented business includes Lety’s aunt, Veronica Resendez, also two sisters: Julie Ibarra, and Sonia Martinez.

Two other food trucks included the first annual, Tamale Fest 2023 contest winners: Hope & Manuel Cardenas’ Homemade Tamales & More. The Cardenas’ daughter, Elaine Dominguez, and five other members assisted Hope and Manuel. The third food truck was “El Trompo” Del Nascar.

Galvan not only was the coordinator for the FFN but also set up a booth for her other business, Mamacita's Boutique. In an interview with Conexión, it was evident one strong quality about Liz was her great smile and outstanding personality.

Liz, tell us the difference between three years ago when you started Pulgaso and now in what you learned.

“I know how to handle situations better. And I learned quickly from my mistakes.”

Galvan stated Mamacita’s prices are affordable, and she makes sure the customer is happy with the purchased item. She is willing to be accommodating to meet a customer’s need.

Among some of the other vendors included were: Lilu Creations, Sweet & Delicious, etc., Casa Jalisco Mexican Grill & Bar, JP’s Aguas, etc.

The live entertainment was provided by DJcu4tro owned by Joshua Peréz, and for those wanting to make memories, B&G Photobooth provides its services. To view a list of some of the vendors follow the Facebook link below.
