¿Qué dice la Biblia?

A veces se oye a la gente jactarse de su ira. «Le dije cuatro cosas bien dichas». ¿Qué dice la Biblia?

«Por esto, mis amados hermanos, todo hombre sea pronto para oír, tardo para hablar, tardo para airarse; porque la ira del hombre no obra la justicia de Dios. Por lo cual, desechando toda inmundicia y abundancia de malicia, recibid con mansedumbre la palabra implantada, la cual puede salvar vuestras almas». Santiago 1:19-21

De este pasaje aprendemos lo siguiente:

1. Debemos ser prontos para oír. Escuchar más de lo que hablamos. Escuchar antes de hablar.

2. Nos equivocamos cuando perdemos los estribos. Rara vez sale algo bueno rápidamente de nuestra boca. Piensa antes de hablar. Ora antes de hablar.

3. Santiago incluye el perder los estribos junto con la inmundicia, la malicia desenfrenada y la maldad. Estas no son características que debamos buscar; debemos desecharlas.

4. En cambio, debemos llenar humildemente nuestra mente y nuestro corazón con la palabra de Dios.

Así que, en lugar de intentar imponer nuestra voluntad, debemos buscar la suya.

What Does the Bible Say?

Sometimes you hear people brag about their anger. “I gave him a good talking too.” What does the Bible say?

“Know this, my beloved brethren. Let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger, for the anger of man does not work the righteousness of God. Therefore put away all filthiness and rank growth of wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.” James 1:19-21

From this scripture we learn:

1. We should be quick to hear. Listen more than we talk. Listen before we talk.

2. We are wrong when we fly off the handle. Rarely does anything good come quickly out of our mouth. Think before you speak. Pray before you speak.

3. James includes losing our temper with filthiness, rank growth, and wickedness. These are not characteristics we should seek. They should be put away.

4. Instead, we should humbly fill our mind and heart with the word of God.

So instead of trying to get our way, we should seek His way.
