¿Qué dice la Biblia?

¿La verdadera fe salvadora le impulsa a actuar? ¿Qué dice la Biblia?

Muchos de los que escuchaban en Hechos 2 entendieron lo que los apóstoles decían acerca de Jesús: que él era el Hijo de Dios, que era inocente y que fue asesinado. Creían que esto era cierto, pero la fe que salva conlleva acción.

«Al oír esto, se compungieron de corazón y dijeron a Pedro y a los demás apóstoles: “Varones hermanos, ¿qué haremos?”. Pedro les dijo: “Arrepentíos y bautícese cada uno de vosotros en el nombre de Jesucristo para perdón de los pecados; y recibiréis el don del Espíritu Santo. Porque para vosotros es la promesa, y para vuestros hijos, y para todos los que están lejos; para cuantos el Señor nuestro Dios llame”». Hechos 2:37-39

La fe que salva no consiste simplemente en aceptar un hecho como verdadero; es una convicción que exige acción. ¿Qué debemos hacer? La respuesta estaba en los versículos 38 y 39: «Pedro les dijo: “Arrepentíos y bautícese cada uno de vosotros en el nombre de Jesucristo para perdón de los pecados; y recibiréis el don del Espíritu Santo. Porque para vosotros es la promesa, y para vuestros hijos, y para todos los que están lejos; para cuantos el Señor nuestro Dios llame”». Hechos 2:38-39

¿Le salva la fe? Sí. Pero Santiago nos dice que la fe salvadora obedece los mandamientos.

«¿De qué aprovecha, hermanos míos, si alguno dice que tiene fe y no tiene obras? ¿Podrá la fe salvarle? Y si un hermano o una hermana están desnudos y tienen necesidad del mantenimiento de cada día, y alguno de vosotros les dice: “Id en paz, calentaos y saciaos”, pero no les dais las cosas que son necesarias para el cuerpo, ¿de qué aprovecha? Así también la fe, si no tiene obras, es muerta en sí misma». Santiago 2:14-17

Real saving faith moves you to act? What does the Bible say?

Many of the hearers in Acts 2 understood what the Apostles were saying about Jesus. That he was the Son of God. He was innocent and he was killed. They believed this to be true but the faith that saves acts.

“Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brethren, what shall we do? And Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sings; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children and to all that are far off, every one whom the Lord our God calls to him.”  Acts 2:37-39

Faith that saves is not accepting a fact as truth. But it is the kind of conviction that demands action. What must we do? The answer was in verses 38 and 39. “And Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sings; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children and to all that are far off, every one whom the Lord our God calls to him.” Acts 2:38-39

Does faith save you? Yes. But James tells us saving faith obeys the commands.

“What does it profit, my brethren, if a man says he has faith but has not works? Can his faith save him? If a brother or sister is ill-clad and in lack of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what does it profit? So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.” James 2:14-17
