San Angelo’s latest sheep statue will be dedicated at the historic Santa Fe Depot, aka the Railway Museum of San Angelo. All are invited to attend the grand ceremony on Saturday, June 11 at 11 a.m. at 703 S. Chadbourne.
Past board member of the museum and Sterling City Mayor, Lane Horwood, wholeheartedly sponsored the fiberglass sheep. The name cleverly dubbed “SanAngeLoki”, is a term also used to refer to members or fanatics of the Railway Museum. Artist Shaydee Watson put careful thought into the design of the ewe and incorporated a bit of history. Mrs. Watson stated, “The concept behind the sheep was to give families a way to interact with the sculpture. There are so many beautiful sheep in San Angelo, but I wanted it to be different and engaging. I created items related to the Railway Museum for a seek-and-find. For example, there are three train tickets on the sheep to actual places you would have traveled in the early 1900s. The trains that currently sit at the museum are also represented on the sheep. You could even try to count how many circles you see, so there are a number of ways the museum can create a seek-and-find on SanAngeLoki.”
The Downtown San Angelo Inc.’s Sheeptacular art project can be seen all over town at participating local businesses and public places. A self-guided sheep tour is a great way to get out on the town and experience something that is truly "ewe"-nique to San Angelo.

La última estatua de oveja de San Angelo se dedicará en el histórico Santa Fe Depot, también conocido como el Museo del Ferrocarril de San Angelo. Todos están invitados a asistir a la gran ceremonia el sábado 11 de junio a las 11 a. m. en 703 S. Chadbourne.
El ex miembro de la junta del museo y alcalde de Sterling City, Lane Horwood, patrocinó de todo corazón a las ovejas de fibra de vidrio.
El nombre hábilmente apodado “SanAngeLoki”, es un término que también se usa para referirse a los miembros o fanáticos del Museo del Ferrocarril. La artista Shaydee Watson pensó cuidadosamente en el diseño de la oveja e incorporó un poco de historia. La Sra. Watson declaró: “El concepto detrás de la oveja era brindarles a las familias una forma de interactuar con la escultura. Hay tantas ovejas hermosas en San Angelo, pero quería que fuera diferente y atractivo. Creé elementos relacionados con el Museo del Ferrocarril para buscar y encontrar. Por ejemplo, hay tres boletos de tren en la oveja a lugares reales a los que habrías viajado a principios del siglo XX. Los trenes que actualmente se encuentran en el museo también están representados en las ovejas. Incluso podría intentar contar cuántos círculos ve, por lo que hay varias formas en que el museo puede crear una búsqueda y búsqueda en SanAngeLoki”.
El proyecto de arte Sheeptacular de Downtown San Angelo Inc. se puede ver por toda la ciudad en las empresas locales y lugares públicos participantes.
