[San Angelo, Texas, 06/02/2022] The Concho Valley Council of Governments
(CVCOG) Rio Vista Head Start Site closed Thursday, June 2nd, out of an
abundance of caution when there was a report of gunshots in the vicinity. While
gunshots were not directed to or on campus, the Head Start Emergency
Response Plan was followed, and a campus lockdown was enacted. The San
Angelo Police Department (SAPD) were contacted and arrived on scene. No
children were present at the time, and parents were notified immediately that
classes were cancelled. CVCOG is cooperating fully with SAPD.

The Concho Valley Council of Government is a voluntary organization of local
governments to foster a cooperative effort in resolving problems, policies and plans that
are common and regional.
