San Angelo, Texas – The San Angelo Fire Department held a Retirement and Promotion ceremony on Thursday, October 31, 2019 a the McNease Convention Center. This ceremony celebrated the career and retirement of Todd Sanford, Assistant Fire Chief and Matthew Ellison, Captain as well as the promotion of 6 individuals within the department.
Fire Chief Brian Dunn welcomed the attendees which included friends and family, San Angelo Police Department Chief Frank Carter as well as members of the City Council. Mayor Brenda Gunter, City Manager Daniel Valenzuela, Councilman Harry Thomas, District 3 were in attendance.
Todd Sanford served the department and community for over 28 years and Matthew Ellison for 20 years. Promotions included Johnny who was promoted to rank of Assistant Fire Chief, Stacy Wright to the rank of Battalion Chief, Michael Anderson to the rank of Captain, Manuel Garza to the rank of Lieutenant, Matthew Malleck to the rank of Driver, Jeffrey Hunter to the rank of Driver. The individuals promoted were individually presented the oath under which they will carry out their new duties.
Mayor Gunter spoke words of appreciation for the service of the retirees and of those promoted as well as for the support of their families throughout their career.

San Ángelo, Texas – El Departamento de Bomberos de San Ángelo el jueves 31 de octubre de 2019 celebró una ceremonia de Retiro y Promoción en el Centro de Convenciones McNease. Esta ceremonia celebró la carrera y el retiro del Asistente del Jefe de Bomberos, Todd Sanford y el Capitán Matthew Ellison, así como la promoción de 6 personas dentro del departamento.
Brian Dunn, jefe de Bomberos dio la bienvenida a los asistentes, que incluyeron amigos y familiares que estuvieron presentes, Frank Carter, jefe del Departamento de Policía de San Ángelo, así como a miembros del Consejo de la Ciudad. La alcaldesa Brenda Gunter, el administrador de la ciudad Daniel Valenzuela, Harry Thomas concejal del Distrito 3.
Todd Sanford sirvió al departamento y la comunidad por más de 28 años y Matthew Ellison por 20 años. Las promociones incluyeron a Johnny Fisher quien fue ascendido al rango de Jefe Asistente de Bomberos, Stacy Wright al rango de Jefe de Batallón, Michael Anderson al rango de Capitán, Manuel Garza al rango de teniente, Matthew Malleck al rango de Conductor, Jeffrey Hunter al rango de Conductor. Las personas promovidas recibieron individualmente el juramento bajo el cual llevarán a cabo sus nuevos deberes.
La alcaldesa Gunter pronunció palabras de agradecimiento por el servicio de los jubilados y de los promovidos, así como por el apoyo de sus familias a lo largo de su carrera.
