Suspect in Assault on Elderly Victim Arrested After Pursuit

On April 9, 2026, at approximately 9:46 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Richard Street in reference to an assault victim. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect, 58-year-old Ernesto Losoya, had assaulted his mother and fled the scene.

Later in the day, officers located Losoya and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Losoya fled in a vehicle, leading officers on a pursuit. The pursuit concluded in the 1300 block of Richard Street, where Losoya was taken into custody without incident.

Losoya was transported to Shannon Medical Center for precautionary reasons. He will be charged with Injury to the Elderly and Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle.
