SAN ANGELO, TX - “House of Faith Is taking Jesus to neighborhood children, youth and families,” commented Kevin Reynolds, Executive Director of the program. Typically, people go to church to hear the faith message, but there is a whole group of people do not go to church. House of Faith started in 1994 in someone’s yard in the barrio right here in San Angelo. Now they have 15 locations throughout the community where children meet weekly.
When House of Faith started, Kevin was working as a juvenile probation officer. “What if someone reached these kids when they were little before, they turned 15 and started stealing cars?” commented Kevin. The Lord spoke the vision of House of Faith to Rachel Beaver. “What happened that first day defined us,” commented Kevin.
Now, 25 years later House of Faith has 15 locations around town where children can meet have a snack and learn about Jesus. “We have 1700 elementary school students that we reach every week,” Commented Reynolds. This year House of Faith will be celebrating their 25th year anniversary. On August 24th they will celebrate with the community at the San Angelo River Stage.

Llevando a Jesús a los Barrios

SAN ANGELO, TX - “La Casa de Fe está llevando a Jesús a los niños, jóvenes y familias del vecindario”, comentó Kevin Reynolds, director ejecutivo del programa. Normalmente, gente asiste a una iglesia para escuchar el mensaje de fe, pero hay varias personas que no asisten a una la iglesia. Casa de Fe comenzó en 1994 en un patio en el barrio aquí en San Angelo. Ahora tienen 15 ubicaciones en toda la comunidad donde los niños se reúnen semanalmente.
Cuando comenzó Casa de Fe, Kevin estaba trabajando como oficial de libertad condicional juvenil. “¿Qué pasaría si alguien agarrara a estos niños cuando eran pequeños antes de cumplir 15 años y comenzaran a robar autos?” El Señor le habló a Rachel Beaver de la visión de la Casa de la Fe. "Lo que sucedió el primer día nos definió", comentó Kevin.
Ahora, 25 años después, Casa de Fe tiene 15 sitios en la ciudad donde los niños pueden reunirse a comer algo y aprender acerca de Jesús. "Tenemos 1700 estudiantes de escuela primaria a los que llegamos cada semana", comentó Reynolds.
Este año, Casa de Fe celebrará su aniversario de 25 años. El 24 de agosto celebrarán con la comunidad en el River Stage de San Angelo. Como organización sin fines de lucro, Casa de Fe siempre está buscando voluntarios, patrocinadores y apoyo comunitario.
