SAN ANGELO – On April 24, 2019 San Angelo Independent School District recognized 25 teachers for their work, effort and leadership during the 2019 Teacher of the year ceremony.
Among those recognized were Callie Fuchs a reading intervention teacher at Alta Loma Elementary and Julie Meza, a 3rd grade teacher at Holiman Elementary.
“Teachers do a lot of work, yet sometimes they don’t get recognized, so to have my peers vote for me, validates all the hard work and extra hours I put in. This is a big honor for me, and it shows that teachers go above and beyond, and we do it because we love the kids and want them to have the best futures they can have.” Stated Fuchs. Dean McIntyre, Fuchs’ father stated I am so proud of her and how she goes above and beyond to take care of the young students.
Meza emotionally commented “I am very thankful for my parents, for pushing me to go to college, I am a first-generation college graduate in my family and I’m very proud, blessed and thankful.” Speaking about her co-workers Meza stated. “We all work together, support each other and collaborate in doing what is best for the kids.”

SAN ANGELO – El distrito escolar independiente de San Ángelo, el 24 de abril de 2019 reconoció a 25 profesores por su trabajo, esfuerzo y liderazgo durante la ceremonia del profesor 2019.
Entre los reconocidos estaban Callie Fuchs una maestra de intervención de la lectura en la escuela primaria Alta Loma y Julie Meza, una maestra del grado 3 en la escuela primaria Holiman.
"Maestros hacen un gran trabajo, pero a veces no son reconocidos, por lo que al ver que mis compañeros votaron por mí, le da valido a mi trabajo. Este es un gran honor para mí y demuestra que maestros sobrepasan lo que tiñen que hacer, y lo hacemos porque nos amamos a los niños y queremos tengan el mejor futuro que pueden tener." Said Fuchs Dean McIntyre, el padre de Fuchs declaro, “Estoy muy orgulloso de ella y como sobrepasa lo que tiene que hacer para el bien de los estudiantes jóvenes.”
Meza comento emocionalmente "Estoy muy agradecida a mis padres, por empujarme a ir a la Universidad, yo soy la primera generación en mi familia que se graduado de la universidad y estoy muy orgullosa, bendecida y agradecida.
