San Angelo, Texas – Dr. James G. Vretis is the Medical Director of the San Angelo Fire Department. In an interview with Conexion San Angelo he said. Everyone who is in contact with other people should protect themselves from any spread of the Coronavirus. They should have a mask on at all times, the coronavirus can become airborne and spread sneezing or coughing. It is especially important to constantly keep cleaning all common areas such tables, doorknobs.”
Dr. Vretis said that a large amount of people gets the virus by hands or mouth. If someone coughs, the virus lands on a surface and you put your hand on that surface, then rub your eyes, this is how they get infected.
Dr. Vretis said. “That’s way we tell you to wash your hands and use sanitizers, use a common sense to stay away from the germ to get you, there are people that are not following the recommendations of social distance and using non protective garments and other devices.”
“They say, I am not afraid of that; they are not afraid because they do not have any symptoms, but some might be carrying the virus and are infecting other people.”
He said, even though in San Angelo there are not many people detected with Covid-19, it does not mean that there are not people walking around with the virus. Now the economy is slowly been reopening, everyone must safely practice social distancing when they go to restaurants, movie theatres; etc."
“My message to the community is that we will get through this,” he said. “This it’s going to be longer that we expected.”

San Ángelo, Texas - El Dr. James G. Vretis es el Director Médico del Departamento de Bomberos de San Ángelo. En una entrevista con Conexion San Ángelo, dijo. Todas las personas que estén en contacto con otras personas deben protegerse de cualquier propagación del Coronavirus.
Deben tener una mascarilla en todo momento, el coronavirus puede transmitirse por el aire y propagarse al estornudar o toser. Es especialmente importante mantener constantemente la limpieza de todas las áreas comunes, como mesas, pomos de las puertas".
El Dr. Vretis dijo que una gran cantidad de personas contraen el virus con las manos o la boca. Si alguien tose, el virus cae sobre una superficie y tú pones tu mano sobre esa superficie, luego se frota los ojos, así es como se infectan.
El Dr. Vretis dijo. "De esa manera le decimos que se lave las manos y use desinfectantes, que use el sentido común para mantenerse alejado del germen y no quedar atrapado, hay personas que no siguen las recomendaciones de distancia social y usan prendas no protectoras y otros dispositivos”.
“Dicen, yo no tengo miedo de eso; no tienen miedo porque no tienen ningún síntoma, pero algunos podrían estar portando el virus e infectar a otras personas".
Él dijo que, aunque en San Ángelo no hay muchas personas detectadas con Covid-19, eso no significa que no haya personas caminando con el virus. Ahora que la economía se ha reabierto lentamente, todos deben practicar con seguridad el distanciamiento social cuando van a restaurantes, cines; etc.".
