San Angelo, Texas – Back on October 16, San Angelo residents began calling the Utilities Department complaining of lack or low of water pressure. According to Allison Strube San Angelo Water Utilities Director, unit crews were immediately dispatched to areas the department was receiving calls from to resolve the problem.
“We had a couple of main water lines breaks,” Strube said. “One break was located at College Hills/Oxford and another is near Mayfield Paper Company.”
The City of San Angelo issued a specific notice suggesting residents boil water from the tap before consuming that spanned from Butler Farms to the south to Lake View in the north. This measure was to ensure the destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes.
“The Mayfield break that caused the alarm and issuing the notice to boil water was an 18-inch cut responsible for a large area to lose pressure and to not have water,” Strube said.
Strube is happy to report that all leaks were repaired that same day and samples were taken to make sure no bacteria or other contaminants or discoloration were in the water system.
San Angelo Water Utilities Director also said that there are plans to repair or replace needed water pipelines.
“We are actively replacing water and sewer infrastructure in the City of San Angelo,” Strube said.

La ciudad de San Angelo emitió un aviso específico sugiriendo a los residentes hervir el agua del grifo antes de consumirla que se extendía desde Butler Farms al sur hasta Lake View en el norte. Esta medida fue para asegurar la destrucción de todas las bacterias dañinas y otros microbios.

Strube se complace en informar que todas las fugas se repararon ese mismo día y se tomaron muestras para asegurarse de que no hubiera bacterias u otros contaminantes o decoloración en el sistema de agua.
La Directora de Servicios de Agua en San Angelo también dijo que hay planes para reparar o reemplazar las tuberías de agua necesarias.
“Estamos reemplazando activamente la infraestructura de agua y alcantarillado en la ciudad de San Angelo”, dijo Strube.
