San Angelo, Texas – La Esperanza Clinic together with Sunset Mall held its annual Back to School Celebration on Saturday, August 10th. This was the 15th year the event has taken place. The Sunset Mall has been a part of it for the last 5 years.
“The Sunset Mall is a great venue, everyone is inside, and the children are safe,” commented Norma Lee, Outreach Promoter and Coordinator at La Esperanza Clinic. National Health Center Week runs every year from August 4 to the 10. “We like to coordinate this event with National Health Center week to stay rooted in the community, help meet the need and celebrate families,” said Norma Lee.
There was a school supply giveaway which included backpacks. There were 25 vendors that attended the event provided free items to the children and families. Several volunteers from Goodfellow Airforce Base and the Medical Society were on hand to help. Vendors also brought along their own volunteers.
Dean Munn, La Esperanza CEO, was also on-site. He loves the information that is given out to the family and loves the fact that the event is preparing the children for another school year. “There is nothing like seeing the impact of this event on the families,” concluded Norma Lee.
La Esperanza Clinic recently celebrated its 25th anniversary as part of the San Angelo community.

San Angelo, Texas – La Clínica La Esperanza junto con Sunset Mall el sábado 10 de agosto celebró su Celebración Anual de Regreso a la Escuela. Este fue el decimoquinto año que tuvo lugar el evento. El Sunset Mall durante los últimos 5 años ha sido parte de él.
"El Sunset Mall es un gran lugar, todos están adentro y los niños están a salvo", comentó Norma Lee, Promotor y Coordinador de Alcance en Clínica La Esperanza. La Semana Nacional en el Centro de Salud se realiza del 4 al 10 de Agosto cada año. "Nos gusta coordinar este evento del Centro con la semana Nacional de Salud para permanecer enraizados en la comunidad, ayudar a satisfacer las necesidades y celebrar a las familias", dijo Norma Lee.
Hubo un sorteo de útiles escolares que incluía mochilas. Hubo 25 vendedores que asistieron al evento que proporcionaron artículos gratis a los niños y las familias. Varios voluntarios de la Base de la Fuerza Aérea Goodfellow y la Sociedad Médica estuvieron disponibles para ayudar. Los vendedores también trajeron a sus propios voluntarios.
Dean Munn, CEO de La Esperanza, también estuvo en el lugar. Le encanta la información que se le da a la familia y le encanta el hecho de que el evento está preparando a los niños para otro año escolar. "No hay nada como ver el impacto de este evento en las familias", concluyó Norma Lee.
