What Does the Bible Say?

The question is how do we act as we live among unbelievers. What does the Bible say?

“Conduct yourselves wisely toward outsiders, making the most of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer every one.” Colossians 4:5-6

From this scripture we learn living as children of light in a dark world can be difficult but it can also be an opportunity.

1.      We should approach this opportunity with wisdom.

2.      We should understand we only have so much time and only so many opportunities. We may not get this opportunity again.

3.      Wisdom would tell us to make the most of this moment.

4.      Be careful what you say.

5.      Be careful how you say it.

6.      Use everything at your disposal to make your presentation successful.

7.      Each person is different, so take that into consideration.

Remember our gaol is not to get them told but to get them sold. We should not give them a piece of our mind but a piece of Jesus. We have a lot to think about – be quick to hear and slow to speak.

Qué dice la Biblia?

La pregunta es: ¿cómo debemos actuar al vivir entre incrédulos? ¿Qué dice la Biblia?

«Compórtense sabiamente con los de afuera, aprovechando bien el tiempo. Que su conversación sea siempre agradable y sazonada con sal, para que sepan cómo responder a cada uno». Colosenses 4:5-6

De este pasaje aprendemos que vivir como hijos de la luz en un mundo de tinieblas puede ser difícil, pero también puede ser una oportunidad.

1. Debemos abordar esta oportunidad con sabiduría.

2. Debemos comprender que nuestro tiempo y nuestras oportunidades son limitados. Puede que no volvamos a tener esta oportunidad.

3. La sabiduría nos dicta que aprovechemos al máximo este momento.

4. Cuida lo que dices.

5. Cuida cómo lo dices.

6. Utiliza todo lo que esté a tu alcance para que tu mensaje sea eficaz.

7. Cada persona es diferente; tenlo en cuenta.

Recuerda: nuestro objetivo no es simplemente decirles algo, sino lograr que acepten el mensaje. No debemos darles un pedazo de nuestra opinión, sino un pedazo de Jesús. Tenemos mucho en qué pensar: sé pronto para oír y tardo para hablar.
