Have you ever felt envious of someone? Maybe they have a better job, obedient.
children, defined and thin bodies, and more income than you or they have things that
you would like to have talents that you don’t have, or admire for others. There can be
many circumstances that cause jealousy or envy. Gn 4:1-10, there are two brothers,
Cain and Abel; it turns out that Abel offered God the best, and God looked at him with
pleasure.
Cain instead of doing the same. He let his envy get the better of him since his
works and actions were evil and those of his brother were just. The meaning of envy in
Greek is “to boil”; this is an emotion that grows if you let it. God asked Cain: Where is
your brother? He also tells him, “Sin is at your door to dominate you. However, you can
master it.” If God asks you, where is that person that is causing “to boil” in you, what

¿Alguna vez has sentido envidia de alguien? Quizás tienen mejor trabajo, hijos mas
obedientes, un cuerpo delgado y definido, mejor salario, alguien tiene cosas que a ti te
gustaría tener, más talento que tú, o tu amigo/a es más admirado que tú. Pueden ser
muchas las circunstancias que causan celos o envidia. (Genesis 4:1-10) En este caso
hay dos hermanos uno se llama Caín y el otro Abel. Resulta que Abel le ofrecía a Dios
lo mejor y Dios lo miro con agrado y Caín en vez de hacer lo mismo, dejo que su
envidia le ganara ya que sus obras y acciones eran malas y las de su hermano justas.
Literalmente el significado de envidia/celos “sonido del agua burbujeando por el calor”.
Esto expresa una emoción que está creciendo si la dejas. Dios pregunta a Caín
¿Dónde esta tu hermano? Y le dice, que el “pecado está a la puerta para dominarlo.
No obstante, tú puedes dominarlo”. Si Dios te preguntara donde esta esta persona de
la cual tienes envidia, ¿qué le contestarías?
