Over 90 undocumented immigrants, including many women and children, were recently apprehended crossing a weir dam near Del Rio. Weir dams are extremely dangerous as they appear safe, but the circulating currents they create pose a high risk of drowning and make rescue very dangerous and difficult, the U.S. Border Patrol Del Rio Sector stated.
