ASU graduates 1,100 in five ceremonies

SAN ANGELO – Five Angelo State University commencement ceremonies were held over a two-day weekend as Ginger Kerrick Davis, the keynote speaker in her brief remarks, addressed the 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. graduates on Saturday, May 15, 2021.


“ASU has helped shape you and your future. Now you can help shape ASU as there is no better testament to a university than the success of its graduates. We welcome you as contributors to ASU’s legacy.”


Davis congratulated the 2021 class of ASU on behalf of the Board of Regents of Texas Tech University System.


President Ronnie Hawkins, Jr. reminded the graduates of Angelo State’s five core values that they helped craft and codify.” Integrity, diversity and inclusion, significance, community, and commitment that should cause them to drive everything they do.


The ceremonies featured 1,100 ASU graduates, of which 900 officially walked the stage and received their degrees either on Friday, May 14 or Saturday, May 15. The five commencement ceremonies were held in the Junell Center/Stephens Arena on the campus of ASU.
