WASHINGTON –The Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) announced his support for a new bill establishing a Ports-to-Plains Trade Corridor from Laredo to Amarillo, stopping along the way in Del Rio, Midland-Odessa, San Angelo, and Lubbock. The proposed divided highway corridor would originate in Mexico and continue through West Texas to Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, and ultimately up north through Canada and the Pacific Northwest.
“Texas is already the largest state exporter of goods, and adding an artery connecting us to Mexico and Canada will mean better access to markets for Texas farmers, ranchers, and producers,” said Sen. Cornyn. “I look forward to working with my colleagues representing states all along the Ports-to-Plains Corridor to bring this plan to fruition.”
Senator John Cornyn, a Republican from Texas, is a member of the Senate Finance, Intelligence, and Judiciary Committees.

WASHINGTON - El senador John Cornyn (R-TX) anunció su apoyo a un nuevo proyecto de ley que establece un corredor comercial Ports-to-Plains de Laredo a Amarillo, deteniéndose en el camino en Del Rio, Midland-Odessa, San Angelo y Lubbock. El corredor de la autopista dividida propuesto se originaría en México y continuaría a través del oeste de Texas hasta Oklahoma, Nuevo México, Colorado y, finalmente, hacia el norte a través de Canadá y el noroeste del Pacífico.
“Texas ya es el mayor exportador estatal de bienes, y agregar una arteria que nos conecte con México y Canadá significará un mejor acceso a los mercados para los agricultores, ganaderos y productores de Texas”, dijo el Senador Cornyn. "Espero trabajar con mis colegas que representan a los estados a lo largo del Corredor Ports-to-Plains para llevar este plan a buen término".
