Downtown San Angelo, Inc. se complace en anunciar que ha recibido una subvención de $5,000 del Fondo Anice B. Read para apoyar la construcción de un segundo arco de bienvenida para residentes y visitantes en el centro de San Angelo.

El nuevo arco estará ubicado en la entrada norte del centro, frente al Centro de Extensión Católica Angelo y Habitat for Humanity, creando un arco visualmente atractivo que mejorará la experiencia peatonal y definirá aún más el carácter del distrito del centro.

Diseñado para celebrar la herencia y el espíritu creativo de San Angelo, los pilares del arco estarán adornados con motivos y mosaicos inspirados en Cowboys & Creatives, combinando la tradición del Oeste con la vibrante cultura artística de la ciudad. Esta instalación complementará el arco existente en el centro y extenderá el ambiente acogedor que se ha convertido en un sello distintivo de la zona.

Actualmente se están realizando los planes de construcción, y se espera que la instalación comience en otoño. Los miembros de la comunidad y los visitantes podrán disfrutar de otro impresionante monumento que celebra las historias, la creatividad y el espíritu de San Angelo.

Downtown San Angelo, Inc. Receives $5,000 Anice B. Read Grant for Second Downtown Archway in San Angelo

Downtown San Angelo, Inc. is proud to announce it has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Anice B. Read Fund to support the construction of a second archway welcoming residents and visitors into downtown San Angelo.

The new archway will be located at the northern entrance into downtown, across from the Angelo Catholic Outreach Center and Habitat for Humanity, creating a visually engaging arch that enhances the pedestrian experience and further defines the character of the downtown district.

Designed to celebrate San Angelo’s heritage and creative spirit, the archway’s pillars will be adorned with Cowboys & Creatives–inspired motifs and mosaics, blending Western tradition with the city’s vibrant artistic culture. This installation will complement the existing downtown archway and extend the welcoming atmosphere that has become a signature of the area.

“We are grateful to the Anice B. Read Grant for investing in our vision to create a more beautiful, accessible, and welcoming downtown,” said Executive Director, Monica Ramos. “This second archway will help strengthen the sense of place in our community and highlight what makes San Angelo unique.”

Construction planning is currently underway, with installation expected to begin in the fall. Community members and visitors can look forward to another striking landmark that celebrates the stories, creativity, and spirit of San Angelo.
