Del Rio, Texas – On January 18, 2022, at about 1600 hours, the Del Rio Police Department
Criminal Investigation Division received information from a person of interest who is possibly
connected to the murder of the 11-year-old child. DRPD Detectives interviewed this individual who
provided some insight in the investigation and named two suspects who were allegedly involved in
the shooting on San Juan Street in Del Rio.
DRPD detectives executed a search warrant at this person’s residence located at the Villas de Val
Verde at 1725 FM 2523 in Del Rio, TX. DRPD recovered several firearms and different types of
ammunitions which included the same type of ammunition shells found at the crime scene on San
Juan Street.
DRPD detectives continued gathering information from persons of interest and witnesses who came
forward to assist in the investigation. DRPD detectives applied for arrest warrants for the offense of
Capital Murder on the following suspects: Aldo Esquivel, 18-years-old, and Victor Garcia, 17-yearsold.
DRPD, along with the following agencies: Val Verde County Sheriff’s Office Investigators, Department of Public Safety CID Agents, Homeland Security Investigation Agents and Drug Enforcement Administration assisted in the arrest of Aldo Esquivel at his residence.
Victor Garcia has not been located and his arrest is imminent. DRPD Detectives continued the search for Victor Garcia leading into the early hours of the morning of January 19, 2022.

DRPD Detectives discovered a third person was involved but did not participate in the fatal shooting of the child. Adolfo Tapia, 19 years-old was arrested at his residence located at the Villas De Val Verde, also for the offense of Capital Murder, knowing that Esquivel and Garcia were going to commit a felonious act.

DPRD ARRESTA A 2 SOSPECHOSOS EN INVESTIGACIÓN DE ASESINATO CAPITAL, 1 PRÁCTICO

Del Rio, Texas – El 18 de enero de 2022, aproximadamente a las 16:00 horas, el Departamento de Policía de Del Rio La División de Investigación Criminal recibió información de una persona de interés que posiblemente relacionado con el asesinato del niño de 11 años. Los detectives del DRPD entrevistaron a este individuo que proporcionó información sobre la investigación y nombró a dos sospechosos que presuntamente estaban involucrados en el tiroteo en la calle San Juan de Del Río.
Los detectives del DRPD ejecutaron una orden de allanamiento en la residencia de esta persona ubicada en las Villas de Val Verde en 1725 FM 2523 en Del Rio, TX. DRPD recuperó varias armas de fuego y diferentes tipos de municiones que incluían el mismo tipo de casquillos de munición encontrados en la escena del crimen en San Calle Juan. Los detectives del DRPD continuaron reuniendo información de personas de interés y testigos que acudieron adelante para ayudar en la investigación.
Detectives de la DRPD solicitaron órdenes de aprehensión por el delito de
Asesinato Capital de los siguientes sospechosos: Aldo Esquivel, de 18 años, y Víctor García, de 17 años.
DRPD, junto con las siguientes agencias: Investigadores de la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Val Verde, Departamento de Seguridad Pública Agentes CID, Agentes de Investigación de Seguridad Nacional y Administración de Ejecución colaboró en la detención de Aldo Esquivel en su residencia. Víctor García no ha sido localizado y su detención es inminente. Detectives del DRPD continuaron la búsqueda de Víctor García antes de las primeras horas de la mañana del 19 de enero de 2022.
