Enfrentamiento en Shady Hill Drive

El 12 de enero de 2026, el Departamento de Policía de San Angelo tuvo conocimiento de un incidente crítico en la cuadra 3500 de Shady Hill Drive, relacionado con una amenaza de violencia doméstica.

El sospechoso supuestamente había amenazado con asesinar a su cónyuge y luego suicidarse. La cónyuge logró salir de la residencia ilesa. Debido al historial de comportamiento violento del sospechoso y a la información obtenida en investigaciones previas, los agentes acordonaron la zona mientras se solicitaba una orden de arresto.

Posteriormente, se emitió una orden de arresto y el Equipo de Negociación del Departamento de Policía de San Angelo intentó establecer comunicación con el sospechoso. Durante las negociaciones, se escucharon disparos dentro de la residencia. El equipo SWAT entró en la vivienda, donde encontraron al sospechoso con heridas autoinfligidas por arma de fuego.

El sospechoso fue trasladado al Centro Médico Shannon, donde posteriormente fue declarado fallecido.

Este incidente continúa bajo investigación. No hay información adicional disponible en este momento.

El área de operaciones para este incidente se ubicó cerca de la Escuela Primaria Lamar. Se notificó al distrito escolar y se le mantuvo informado. En ningún momento hubo peligro para la escuela ni para los estudiantes.

On January 12, 2026, the San Angelo Police Department became aware of a critical incident in the 3500 block of Shady Hill Drive involving a domestic-related threat.

The suspect had allegedly threatened to murder his spouse and then take his own life. The spouse was able to safely leave the residence without injury. Due to the suspect’s history of escalating behavior and information obtained from related investigations, officers secured the area while an arrest warrant was sought.

An arrest warrant was subsequently issued, and the San Angelo Police Department’s Negotiations Team began attempting to establish communication with the suspect. During negotiations, gunshots were heard inside the residence. The SWAT Team then made entry into the home, where the suspect was located suffering from self-inflicted injuries caused by a firearm.

The suspect was transported to Shannon Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.

This incident remains under investigation. No additional information is available at this time.

The staging area for this incident was near Lamar Elementary, the School District was notified and kept informed. There was no danger to the school or students
