¿Qué dice la Biblia?

Dado que la lengua revela lo que hay en nuestro corazón, nuestra vida debería reflejar piedad y bondad. Sin embargo, a menudo no es así. Entonces, ¿qué debemos hacer? ¿Qué dice la Biblia?

«Con ella bendecimos al Señor y Padre, y con ella maldecimos a los hombres, que han sido creados a imagen de Dios. De la misma boca salen bendición y maldición. Hermanos míos, esto no debe ser así. ¿Acaso brota de la misma fuente agua dulce y agua salada? ¿Puede, hermanos míos, dar una higuera aceitunas, o una vid higos? Tampoco puede el agua salada dar agua dulce.» Santiago 3:9-12

De este pasaje aprendemos:

1. Usamos la lengua para bendecir al Señor y para maldecir a los hombres. Esto es contradictorio.

2. Somos inconsistentes en lo que decimos, y esto no está bien.

3. Una fuente de agua da agua buena o agua mala, no ambas.

4. No se pueden recoger uvas de una higuera.

Hay algo que discutir. Necesitamos, debemos tener, un corazón santo que produzca palabras santas. Si queremos tener una boca limpia, necesitamos un corazón limpio. Las palabras bíblicas para este proceso son conversión, restauración y renovación. Esto ocurre en el corazón y se revela a todos en nuestra boca.

What Does the Bible Say?

Since the tongue reveals what is in our heart. Our life should be displaying godliness and kindness. Often that is not the case. So what should we do? What does the Bible say?

“With it we bless the Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who are made in the likeness of God. From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brethren, this ought not to be so. Does a spring pour forth from the same opening fresh water and brackish? Can a fig tree, my brethren, yield olives or a grapevine figs? No more can salt water yield fresh.” James 3:9-12

From this scripture we learn:

1.      We use the tongue to bless the Lord and to curse men. This is contradictory.

2.      We are incosistant in what we say and this is not right.

3.      A spring of water yields either good water or bad water – not both.

4.      You can’t pick grapes off of a fig tree.

There is a discussion to make. We need, must have, a holy heart that produces holy words. If we want to h ave a clean mouth we need a clean heart. The Bible words for this procedure are conversion, restoration, and renewal. This takes place in the heart and is revealed to all in our mouth.
