SAN ANGELO – Somehow Christmas in July just quite doesn’t have the same holiday feeling as in December. Yet 90 vendors and the sponsors made the second annual, Christmas in July Summer Market a success when they showed up on Saturday, July 9, 2022, to celebrate Christmas early. The merchants set up their wares spread out across a 90,000 square footage building called First Financial Pavilion.
Brenda Goff, event coordinator and colleague, Lolita Reid of Greater San Angelo Crafters Guild sponsored this pre-holiday event for local and down-the-road-neighbor, the City of Abilene’s vendors, as a large community turned out despite 100 plus degree temperatures.
Bethany Lohrengel, owner of a 10-month business, The Hive Handmade Crafts. has endured an up-and-down influx since she started as a small business entrepreneur last August. Lohrengel says she promotes the business on Facebook, but for the most part attends vendor fairs. “I customize home décor welcome door signs, also Christmas signage. I try to meet the general needs of the customers,” said Lohrengel. Bethany’s business Facebook page, The Hive states she will ship orders within the U.S.
Other businesses, to name a few included: Dress Up Your Door by Trisha Hildebrand, Carol Cruz’ Arts & Crafts, RH Leather Works, and Martha Perez’ MP Creations which consists of t-shirts, Cold Cups, illuminating Epoxy tumblers tweaked with bright colors, glitters and quotes, etc.
