SAN ANGELO TX – In 1969 at the age of 18 Gary Jenkins joined the Marine Corp. In 1970 he was sent to Vietnam as a sniper. In 1971 he returned to the states and worked on President Nixon’s security detail in 1972. “I was one of the first African Americans to serve on a president’s security detail. It was an honor to serve my nation and the president directly,” stated Jenkins.
In 1973 Jenkins attended the Department of Defense information School to learn TV production. After working for the federal government in various departments, he came to Goodfellow in March 2015 and retired in 2019.
Currently Jenkins is the Pastor at Eagles Wings International. He has been pastoring since 1990. He also spent time as an Evangelist visiting several countries. “Since I retired this is my first love, this is what I do more than anything, preach the gospel. We are taking the gospel to the street and show the love of Jesus Christ, “commented Jenkins
Jenkin’s with the grace of God, created the Gospel America Network Channel. “God doesn’t want me to work for a secular network. We are going to be one of the largest broadcasting networks in the world. God said for me to make it affordable for pastors to share the gospel around the world,” stated Jenkins.
To the people of San Angelo, he says “Christians have got to come together. There is a dying world out there and we need to make a difference. I am in San Angelo to make a difference. “When you submit to God and be the women that he wants you to be it is an awesome feeling as a help mate to watch what you invest in grow into something bigger,” concluded Marcela Jenkins.

SAN ANGELO TX – Gary Jenkins a la edad de 18 años, en 1969, se unió a la Corporación de la Marina por sus siglas en ingles (Marine Corp.). fue enviado a Vietnam como francotirador en 1970. Regresó a los estados unidos en 1971 y trabajó en el detalle de seguridad del presidente Nixon en 1972. "Fui uno de los primeros afroamericanos en servir en el detalle de seguridad del presidente. Fue un honor servir a mi nación y al presidente directamente”, declaró Jenkins.
En 1973, Jenkins asistió a la escuela de información del Departamento de Defensa para aprender producción de televisión. Después de trabajar para el gobierno federal en varios departamentos, llegó a Goodfellow en marzo de 2015 y se retiró en 2019.
Actualmente, Jenkins es el pastor en Eagles Wings International. Ha sido pastor desde 1990. También pasó un tiempo como evangelista visitando varios países. “Desde que me retiré este es mi primer amor, predica el evangelio. Estamos llevando el evangelio a la calle y mostramos el amor de Jesucristo ", comentó Jenkins.
