Central Fire Station Adds Anonymous Infant Surrender Option with New Safe Haven Baby Box Blessing Ceremony

SAN ANGELO, TEXAS— Safe Haven Baby Boxes and the community of San Angelo are pleased to announce the blessing and official unveiling of the newest Safe Haven Baby Box, located at Central Fire Station at 306 W. 1st Street, San Angelo, Texas 76903. The ceremony will take place on Monday, October 5, 2026 at 10 AM CDT. This Blessing marks the 477th Safe Haven Baby Box in the nation and the 23rd in Texas, expanding access to safe, anonymous surrender options for mothers in crisis. We would like to give a special thank you to Allison Johnson, Melanie Wood, and the Junior League of San Angelo. Your commitment to protecting the most vulnerable and ensuring families have safe options has made a lasting impact, and we are deeply grateful for your efforts in making this life‑saving resource a reality.

Safe Haven Baby Boxes Founder, Monica Kelsey shared, “We are the only organization providing complete anonymity and we want these mothers to know we are there for them and their infant before and following a surrender.”
