San Angelo, Texas – At the retirement ceremony held on Friday, June 28, 2019 at the McNease Convention Center, Conexión had the opportunity to speak with Police Chief Frank Carter about the retirement of the police officers Cathy DeLaughter and Officer Michael Peterson. Carter was surprised by the attendance at the ceremony. People from the community gathered as well as previous retirees that he had not seen in years to congratulate the officers on their retirement. “This attendance shows the effect these officers had on the community,” commented Chief Carter. There are currently 9 officers in the department that have over thirty years of experience. “These officers become informal leaders and pass on the things they have learned of the years mentoring the younger guys,” stated Chief Carter.

San Angelo, Texas – En la ceremonia de retiro que se realizó el viernes 28 de Junio de 2019 en el centro de convenciones McNease, Conexión tuvo la oportunidad de hablar con el jefe de policía Frank Carter sobre el retiro de los oficiales de policía Cathy DeLaughter y el oficial Michael Peterson. Carter se sorprendió por la asistencia a la ceremonia. Se reunieron personas de la comunidad, así como jubilados anteriores que no había visto en años para felicitar a los oficiales por su retiro. "Esta asistencia muestra el efecto que estos oficiales tuvieron en la comunidad", comentó el jefe Carter. Actualmente hay 9 oficiales en el departamento que tienen más de treinta años de experiencia. "Estos oficiales se convierten en líderes informales y transmiten las cosas que han aprendido en los años en que fueron mentores de los muchachos más jóvenes", declaró el jefe Carter.
