Fort Concho invites the public to Frontier Frights

This October, Fort Concho invites the public to Frontier Frights, a month of haunted history, eerie entertainment and family-friendly frights. From ghost tours and murder mysteries to a haunted house, the historic site will host a series of themed events each weekend leading up to Halloween.

Oct. 10-11: Fort Concho After DarkGuests begin at Barracks 1 Visitor Center, 630 S. Oakes, to check in and receive maps. After a briefing, they’ll tour buildings where staff and volunteers share spooky, true stories from the fort’s past. There will be an active ghost hunting group in Officers’ Quarters 1 that guests may observe and visit.

Time: 8-10 p.m. *Last entry at 9:30 p.m.Cost: $12 general, $10 members, free for kids under 6 (some stories may not be suitable for young children)

Oct. 17-18: A Murder at Fort ConchoInspired by the game “Clue,” guests will investigate a fictional murder by questioning historical figures across the site. Orientation and clue sheets are provided at Barracks 1.Time 7-10 p.m. *Last entry at 9:15 p.m.Cost $12 general, $10 members

Oct. 24-25: House of HorrorsHeld in the Quartermaster Building at Burgess and East Ave. C, this haunted experience is designed for ages 6 and up. Children under 16 must be with an adult.Time: 7:30-11 p.m. *Last ticket sold at 10:30 p.m.Cost: $12 general, $10 members, free for kids under 6

Tickets for all events are available at the Barracks 1 Visitor Center. Be aware that tickets will not be sold online and only physical tickets purchased directly from Fort Concho will be accepted for entry. Fort Concho invita al público a Frontier Frights

Este octubre, Fort Concho invita al público a Frontier Frights, un mes de historia embrujada, entretenimiento inquietante y sustos para toda la familia. Desde recorridos de fantasmas y misterios de asesinatos hasta una casa embrujada, el sitio histórico albergará una serie de eventos temáticos cada fin de semana previo a Halloween.

10 y 11 de octubre: Fort Concho After Dark. Los visitantes comienzan en el Centro de Visitantes del Cuartel 1, 630 S. Oakes, para registrarse y recibir mapas. Tras una sesión informativa, recorrerán los edificios donde el personal y los voluntarios compartirán historias reales y espeluznantes del pasado del fuerte. Habrá un grupo activo de cazafantasmas en el Cuartel de Oficiales 1, que los visitantes podrán observar y visitar.

Horario: 8-10 p. m. *Última entrada a las 21:30 h. Costo: $12 general, $10 miembros, gratis para niños menores de 6 años (algunas historias podrían no ser aptas para niños pequeños).

17-18 de octubre: Asesinato en Fort Concho. Inspirado en el juego "Clue", los visitantes investigarán un asesinato ficticio interrogando a personajes históricos del lugar. Se proporcionará orientación y hojas de pistas en el Cuartel 1. Horario: 19:00-22:00 h. *Última entrada a las 21:15 h. Costo: $12 general, $10 miembros.

24-25 de octubre: Casa de los Horrores. Celebrada en el Edificio Quartermaster, en Burgess y East Ave. C, esta experiencia embrujada está diseñada para mayores de 6 años. Los niños menores de 16 años deben estar acompañados por un adulto. Horario: 19:30-23:00 h. *Última venta de boletos a las 22:30 h. Costo: $12 general, $10 miembros, gratis para niños menores de 6 años.
