Local Elks Lodge to hold CASI Sanctioned Chili Cook Off to Benefit Special Needs Children

San Angelo, Texas— If you are planning on competing at the International Championship Chili Cook Off in Terlingua, here is another opportunity to earn the points you need. San Angelo Elks Lodge 1880 is partnering with the local Chili Pod, for the annual Elks Chili cook-off on Saturday, June 21st. All proceeds will help fund the Elks summer camp for Special Needs Children at Ottine, Texas, which is sponsored by the Texas Elks State Association.

Registration starts at 9am at the Elks Lodge, 2121 S. Chadbourne. The cost is $25 for Chili and $5 for Beans. Beans will be judged at noon and may be cooked off site. The Chili must be cooked on site and must be made from chili grind meat. Chili will be judged at 2pm.

The lodge will be holding a raffle immediately following the award ceremony. The Elks are requesting cakes, pies, & new items be donated for the live auction. 

Hamburgers will be available for $5 each, starting at 11 am for the chili teams & lodge members.

San Angelo Elks Lodge 1880 se ha asociado con el Chili Pod local para el concurso anual de chili Elks, que se celebrará el sábado 21 de junio. Todos los ingresos se destinarán al campamento de verano Elks para niños con necesidades especiales en Ottine, Texas, patrocinado por la Asociación Estatal de Elks de Texas.

La inscripción comienza a las 9:00 a. m. en Elks Lodge, 2121 S. Chadbourne. El costo es de $25 por chili y $5 por frijoles. Los frijoles se evaluarán al mediodía y se pueden cocinar fuera del lugar. El chili debe cocinarse en el lugar y debe estar hecho con carne molida para chili. El chili se evaluará a las 2:00 p. m.

El lodge realizará una rifa inmediatamente después de la ceremonia de premiación. Los Alces solicitan la donación de pasteles, tartas y artículos nuevos para la subasta en vivo.

Las hamburguesas estarán disponibles a $5 cada una a partir de las 11:00 a. m. para los equipos de chili y los miembros de la logia.
